Why reinvent the wheel? Teachers ask ourselves that all the time. Submit your "best of the best" resources and share your expertise. After all, the less time creating handouts, PowerPoints, Prezis, and lesson plans, the more time we have to focus on what matters most: the kids! You've got the talent, so put it in the spotlight!

Boredom Buster Games: Story Starters

in a Jar

This simple literacy based activity idea is perfect for all ages and capabilities and is easily adapted to suit either the classroom or at home! Best of all the only materials you need is an old jar, some strips of paper and a pen!!

Write or type various story starters on several pieces of paper and store them in a jar...next time the kids say they're bored have them pick one from the jar, these story starters can have a particular theme i.e Fairy tales, they can be based on a favourite character, they could be an extension to a lesson plan on persuasive writing and more, the possibilities are endless!

~Happy Reading!
